Fact of the day: Your day will improve significantly if you’re having a blueberry coconut layered smoothie for breakfast. Bonus tip: Add a fancy glass and the odds increase dramatically. Well, at least it worked for me !

And I promise you, blueberries and coconut make a hell of a team! So, starting your day off with a smoothie full of antioxidants and nutrients doesn’t sound so bad now, does it? In fact, blueberries have the highest antioxidant value of all fruits, so it’s basically a gift you give yourself. Now, go get out that blender already!

Tips and tricks for Blueberry Coconut Layered Smoothie:

-Having all the ingredients pre-frozen in separate bags saves you loads of time in the morning!

-The secret to all layered smoothies? Freezing in-between layer pours! You gotta trust me on this one, I’ve had several fails before jumping to this conclusion…

-Not a fan of coconut? No probs! Replace the milk and yogurt with anything you want ! Works perfectly with regular milk and greek yogurt or any non-dairy alternatives!

In other words, mornings don’t always have to be terrible. And having a good or a bad day is, most of the times, up to you. So, those 10 minutes of peace and quiet you get while having breakfast are yours and yours only, so here’s my advice: TREAT. YO. SELF.

Blueberry Coconut Layered Smoothie

With a requirement of only 5 ingredients, this layered smoothie is the perfect way to start your day ! Refreshing taste and full of nutrients !

Ingredients:

Bottom layer

  • 50 g coconut yogurt
  • 1 cup frozen blueberries
  • 100 ml coconut milk

Middle layer

  • 1/2 cup frozen blueberries
  • 50 ml coconut milk
  • 3 tbsp shredded coconut
  • 100 gr coconut yogurt
  • 1/2 banana

Top layer

  • 100 gr coconut yogurt
  • 1/2 banana
  • 3 tbsp shredded coconut
  • Extra blueberries and coconut flakes for topping

Instructions

  • Blend the ingredients for the bottom layer, pour them in two glasses and let them rest in the freezer for at least 15 minutes.
  • After 15 minutes, blend the ingredients for the middle layer then pour them over the bottom one. Place the glasses back in the freezer for 10 more minutes.
  • Blend the top layer mixture and pour on top of the other two layers.

Notes

You can replace the coconut milk and yogurt with any desired option. 
The blueberries can be replaced with any desired fruit.
