Whether you’re looking for a quick, yet healthy breakfast that’s packed with nutrients, or you’re browsing the internet for snack ideas to grab when you’re on the run or you just don’t feel like cooking, this Green Smoothie is your thing! It literally takes less than 5 minutes to make and will keep you full for a good half of your day.
Usually I make smoothies when I don’t have time to cook breakfast. Or… when I need to take a break from the everyday food and remember that my body needs a break from my sometimes -maybe too often- unhealthy eating habits. And this delicious green smoothie always hits the spot, because it’s sweet, has a nutty flavour and it’s packed with nutrients, antioxidants and healthy fats. What more can you ask for from a breakfast that comes in a glass?!
Tips and tricks about smoothies:
-First of all, having all the ingredients pre-frozen in separate bags saves you loads of time in the morning! And trust me, once you start meal prepping and see how easy it is to grab the bag from the freezer and just toss everything in the blender to get a meal done, you’ll see what I’m talking about.
-Secondly, f you want your smoothie to be as creamy as it can get, use a frozen banana (that will make your smoothie thicker) and a well-riped avocado.
-Use a drizzle of maple syrup or honey. Besides the sweeter it adds to the smoothie, it will prevent the ingredients from sticking to the walls of the blender and they will mix together better.
-One of the tricks I learned after many (maybe too many) smoothie fails is to add your fruits and other solid ingredients first. And only after this step, you pour the chosen milk on top until you cover them. That will save you from getting a too runny or too thick smoothie that will need adjustments throughout blending.
-By the way, I used this almond milk to add more nutty flavour to my smoothie, but any milk will do.
